the a.P.A.t.T Orchestra - Gavin Bryars's Sinking of the Titanic, Liverpool 14.04.12

To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, the A.P.aT.t Orchestra   present a special one-off concert within the Merseyside Maritime Museum's new Titanic exhibition.

A new interpretation of Gavin Bryars' seminal work The Sinking of the Titanic.

Mixing composed elements with interpretation, archival recordings, and soundscapes, the work produces a nebulous yet moving response to the events of the night of 14th April 1912.

Presented unconventionally, with musicians spread around the gallery, the performance will create an immersive experience for the visitor, who can wander freely throughout. Add to this the a.P.A.t.T. Orchestra's characteristic mix of unusual instruments, and the creativity of some of the region's most inventive musicians, and this is an event not to be missed.

Tinariwen , Liverpool 11.04.12

Problematic recording of Tinariwen due to chatty crowd, loud cougher and a faulty cable that generated static in one channel every so often throughout concert...therefore much of the middle section has been converted from one channel to be mono...the beginning and end are (surprisingly) fine.  Cracking gig, so worth a download.
